Mark G.Borel, CPA
President
A native of southeast Texas, Mark Borel has made Reno his home since 1999. Snow skiing, whitewater kayaking, boating and off-road exploring in the Sierra Nevada mountains are just a few of the many activities which attracted him to the Lake Tahoe area of northern Nevada.
Mark received his degree in Business Administration in 1984 from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and has several years of experience in business management and marketing with Fortune 1000 companies (including time with Exxon and AutoZone). He received his accounting degree from the University of Nevada in 1992, and is licensed as a Nevada CPA (ten years), and a Texas CPA, with over fifteen years of experience in public accounting. Besides general taxation, Mark’s areas of professional interest and specialization include choice of business entity, planning and implementation of asset protection and estate planning strategies, and international taxation.
Mark is a registered member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Nevada Society of CPA’s. He is a past member of Rotary International and has served on various nonprofit boards, including the Houston Chamber of Commerce as Executive Treasurer. He is also a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and has been registered with Intuit since 1996.
Patrick C.Curley, CPA
Accounting Manager
A native of Louisiana, Patrick relocated to Reno from the New Orleans area, after weathering Hurricane Katrina, and joined the firm in January, 2006. A big sports fan (ask him about the Saints), Patrick enjoys the great outdoors and all the Lake Tahoe area has to offer, including hiking, camping, and mountain biking.
Patrick earned his degree in accounting from Texas State University in 1986, and has been a licensed CPA for over fifteen years. He has many years of diversified accounting and small business management experience, including professional services practice management, and real estate property management. Patrick currently specializes in accounting and planning for real estate investments, and professional services entities.
In addition to being a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Patrick is a member of the Nevada Society of CPA’s, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has also been a member of the Louisiana Society of CPA’s since 1997.
Cindy E.Holly
Office Manager
After spending most of her life in the San Francisco bay area, Cindy relocated to Reno, joining the firm in 2003, and following her family’s migration to Northern Nevada. She enjoys mountain living and the high desert lifestyle, and spends much of her free time with her grandkids, and enjoys hobbies such as baking and canning (her cookies are to die for), scrapbooking, and traveling.
Cindy manages the firm’s day to day operations and scheduling, and supervises our staff of Nevada accountants and paraprofessionals. She is the firm’s primary contact with our esteemed clients and the general public, fielding requests for information, and coordinating the receipt and delivery of accounting and tax documents. Cindy has an extensive background in human resource management and client services, and is a professional who is dedicated to the concept of providing exemplary service, beyond the norm, to our clients worldwide.
Elizabeth A.Lane (Beth)
Staff Accountant
An empty nester, Beth relocated to Northern Nevada from Washington state to escape the rain and enjoy high desert living, joining the firm in 2006. Beth especially loves the outdoors and enjoys camping, fishing, hiking and exploring the mountains. In the winter months, snowshoeing is one of her favorite pastimes.
Beth graduated from business college in 1988, with formal training as a legal secretary, and has over 19 years of experience, with at least 10 years at CPA firms, providing accounting services for a wide range of small businesses. She is a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers, and is a dedicated professional who excels in providing superior service and fulfilling the needs of our clients.
