Mark G.Borel, CPA
President
A native of southeast Texas, Mark Borel has made Reno his home since 1999. Snow skiing, whitewater kayaking, boating and off-road exploring in the Sierra Nevada mountains are just a few of the many activities which attracted him to the Lake Tahoe area of northern Nevada.
Mark received his degree in Business Administration in 1984 from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and has several years of experience in business management and marketing with Fortune 1000 companies (including time with Exxon and AutoZone). He received his accounting degree from the University of Nevada in 1992, and is licensed as a Nevada CPA (ten years), and a Texas CPA, with over fifteen years of experience in public accounting. Besides general taxation, Mark’s areas of professional interest and specialization include choice of business entity, planning and implementation of asset protection and estate planning strategies, and international taxation.
Mark is a registered member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Nevada Society of CPA’s. He is a past member of Rotary International and has served on various nonprofit boards, including the Houston Chamber of Commerce as Executive Treasurer. He is also a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and has been registered with Intuit since 1996.
HEIDI P. RHYME
Office Manager
A Los Angeles transplant to Northern Nevada, Heidi has lived and worked in the Reno area for over ten years. She enjoys mountain living and the high desert lifestyle, and spends much of her free time with her two young boys enjoying hobbies such as horseback riding, camping, boating, and snow skiing.
Heidi manages the firm's daily operations and scheduling, and supervises our staff of Nevada accountants and paraprofessionals. She is the firm's primary contact with our clients and business associates, fielding requests for information, coordinating the receipt and delivery of accounting and tax documents, and e-filing of tax returns. Heidi has several years of experience in office management and client services, and is a skilled professional who is dedicated to the concept of providing exemplary service, beyond the norm, to our clients worldwide.
Elizabeth A.Lane (Beth)
Staff Accountant
An empty nester, Beth relocated to Northern Nevada from Washington state to escape the rain and enjoy high desert living, joining the firm in 2006. Beth especially loves the outdoors and enjoys camping, fishing, hiking and exploring the mountains. In the winter months, snowshoeing is one of her favorite pastimes.
Beth graduated from business college in 1988, with formal training as a legal secretary, and has over 19 years of experience, with at least 10 years at CPA firms, providing accounting services for a wide range of small businesses. She is a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers, and is a dedicated professional who excels in providing superior service and fulfilling the needs of our clients.
Patricia L. Talamantes (Pat)
Staff Accountant
The rugged beauty of the Sierra Nevada mountains, and ideal climate of Northern Nevada, were instrumental in convincing Pat to join other family members in relocating to the Reno area in 1998. An avid musician, Pat regularly plays the piano and organ for several area churches and events, and is a member of several local and national music organizations. Other favorite activities include traveling throughout the western U.S., as well as hiking and gardening.
Pat began her business career by obtaining dual AA degrees in Business Administration, and Management from St. Louis Community College, followed by over 20 years of diversified accounting and business management experience working for various companies including Western Union and H&R Block. A dedicated professional, she is also a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers, specializing in small business accounting and individual taxation.
